Willowbrook students gather to experience total solar eclipse

On April 8, nearly 1,100 Willowbrook students viewed the total solar eclipse (pictured above). The three photos of the eclipse are by Willowbrook science teacher Ben Fenske.

The students gathered on the north tennis courts at the school and listened to music with an eclipse/sun/moon theme. Students had to submit a permission slip signed by a parent to participate and were provided with appropriate glasses to safely watch the event.

According to National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), “A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun.” For more information, go to https://science.nasa.gov/eclipses/future-eclipses/eclipse-2024.
