On May 3 and 4, Addison Trail will present its annual Orchesis Show.

This year’s theme is “Rhythm of the Night,” and the event will feature 22 dance numbers that showcase an array of styles such as hip-hop, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre, tap and more.

Every aspect of the show – from the choreography, to the costumes to the set and lighting – is run by students. The production will feature 35 dancers, 35 escorts and three hosts.

The Orchesis Team officers said highlights of this year’s show include an “officers dance,” which was choreographed by Orchesis alumni, a number where the escorts will perform with the Orchesis Team members and great visual/special effects such as fog, lighting and props.

“We have a lot of variety with the genres, the music and the movements, and each dance tells a story,” the officers said. “We hope the audience has a fun experience with our high-energy performance and that it inspires everyone to come back for future shows and younger girls to join Orchesis.”
