Addison Trail hosts State send-off celebration for students who will compete in 2024 Illinois High School Association Musical Theatre Review

UPDATE: Congratulations to the students below, who competed in the 2024 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Musical Theatre Review and earned 4th place for their performance of “Little Shop of Horrors!”

On March 21, Addison Trail hosted a State send-off celebration for the six students listed below, who competed in the 2024 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Musical Theatre Review. State took place on March 22 and 23 at Sterling High School.

For the contest, the group members had to present a 10-minute musical selection from a published score written for musical theatre. They were allowed six chairs and a table and were prohibited from using any other props, costumes, or scenery. For more information, go to https://tinyurl.com/yc88y7ar.

The students performed “Little Shop of Horrors” and earned 6th place. To view their entry, click on the video above. The students are senior Jack DiDomenic, junior Raina Ashrafi, junior Alexandra Marcinkowski, junior Alexandra Mertz, junior Nathan Redmann and sophomore Lilia Zielinski. 

During the State send-off, they were greeted and honored by their peers and staff members during a parade, as they marched through the hallways of the school behind the Addison Trail Drum Line. To watch the celebration, click on the video above.
