Addison Trail students visit Northern Illinois University

On Nov. 27, eight Addison Trail students who are enrolled in physical education teacher Mike Rosengrant’s Athletic Training and Personal Training courses participated in a field trip to Northern Illinois University to complement and enhance their classroom curriculum.

During the visit, students learned about the college and career pathways available through NIU’s Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education (KNPE), as well as exercise science and human performance research being conducted at the university. They also had the opportunity to tour exercise science labs on the campus and gain hands-on experience with fitness tests and equipment.

“You never know when an experience like this will help students find their passion or spark an interest in something that could potentially impact the direction of their life,” Rosengrant said.
