District 88 shares recap of events that took place to prepare for 2024-25 school year

To prepare for the 2024-25 school year, District 88 hosted the following events. For a full recap of these meetings, click on the video and the presentation link above.

  • The District Leadership Council (DLC) met on July 17, and the Joint Leadership Team (JLT) met on Aug. 1 to prepare for the 2024-25 school year. In addition to District 88 Superintendent Dr. Jean Barbanente setting the priorities for the year, members of the DLC discussed district improvement goals; progress monitoring structures and expectations; Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) initiatives; professional development opportunities for staff; the district’s continued focus on enhancing college and career pathways for all students; and updates in the technology, human resources and community relations departments.

  • All District 88 staff members met on Aug. 12 for an Institute Day to begin the school year. Dr. Barbanente shared her vision for the future direction of the district. Areas of focus for 2024-25 also were discussed, including continued efforts in literacy and college and career pathways, as well as updates in professional development, safety and security, legal topics, technology and community relations.
