Illinois State Board of Education seeks applicants for Student Advisory Council

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) invites students who will be a sophomore, junior, or senior attending a charter or public high school during the 2024-25 school year to join its Student Advisory Council (SAC).

This group provides students with an opportunity to build advocacy and leadership skills and lend their voices to policy development and important issues in education. The SAC meets with stakeholders, policymakers and community partners virtually and in person multiple times each month. Participants examine current research, brainstorm new ideas and develop policy recommendations to present to the State Board of Education from a student perspective.

The deadline to apply for the SAC is July 5. For questions or more information, and to complete an application, go to www.isbe.net/studentvoices.
