District 88 celebrates Public Schools Week

This past week (Feb. 26 to March 1) was a special one, as we celebrated Public Schools Week.

This event is an annual weeklong celebration dedicated to honoring the invaluable contributions and achievements of educators and education advocates in public schools and the communities they serve. Led by the Learning First Alliance (LFA), a coalition of 13 national education groups with a collective membership exceeding 10 million, Public Schools Week invites the education community, parents, lawmakers and others to join in spotlighting public schools throughout the U.S. and the dedicated individuals behind them. It’s a time to showcase the dynamic things happening in public schools and to highlight the strength – and potential – of our nation’s public schools and our students’ futures.

Everyone is invited to celebrate local public schools and the educators and school professionals committed to serving students. One great way is to share why you love your local public school or your child’s teacher on social media, using the hashtag #PSW24 on Facebook and X/Twitter.
