District 88 participates in Addison-Medinah Shriners Parade

On Aug. 28, District 88 participated in the Addison-Medinah Shriners Parade.

The theme of the parade was “Celebrating Freedom,” and the Honorary Grand Marshals were Police Officer Emmanuel Gomez (who is in active service) and veterans from the Addison VFW Post 7446. The event featured 55 community units, plus more than 20 units provided by the Shriners.

District 88 was well-represented, as members of the Addison Trail Marching Band, Color Guard, Orchesis Team, Cheerleaders, Blazettes, Boys Soccer Team, Football Team and Student Council, as well as Willowbrook’s Marching Band, participated and performed during the event.

District 88 Board of Education President Donna Craft Cain and Board Vice President Dan Olson rode in the parade, along with District 88 Superintendent Dr. Jean Barbanente and Addison Trail Principal Jack Andrews.
