At District 88, we know our partnerships are key to helping our students succeed inside the classroom and beyond and to accomplishing our mission of working for the continuous improvement of student achievement.
We truly value those collaborations and are committed to developing/enhancing relationships with our stakeholders. As part of that focus, we are thrilled to work with the Village of Villa Park and the City of Oakbrook Terrace, as well as representatives from DuPage County and local legislators, to develop an intergovernmental group. We have a well-established intergovernmental unit in Addison that is a longstanding and invaluable tradition of the village, and the strong relationships cultivated through that group have provided phenomenal opportunities to support our families such as coming together to coordinate a COVID-19 vaccine clinic, distributing food to residents and more. We are excited to add this tremendous asset to the other side of our district as well.
The goal of the group is to establish open communication and provide an opportunity to share information. We met on Oct. 7 and will come together quarterly to network, partner on projects/initiatives and discuss current events to benefit our students and communities. I would like to thank the following individuals for attending the meeting, and I look forward to the immense promise of bringing these agencies together.
