As we’ve previously shared, we are thrilled to be planning for a full return to in-person learning for the 2021-22 school year, and we anticipate returning to our traditional eight-period day/schedule this fall.
To accommodate students who were successful in our online environment during the 2020-21 school year and wish to remain remote, we will offer a Virtual Learning Academy.
The Virtual Learning Academy will provide synchronous instruction through Zoom, with the curriculum taught by District 88 teachers and supplemented by the online platform Edgenuity. Please note, elective and fine arts programming will be limited in this format.
Students in the Virtual Learning Academy will still be allowed to participate in athletics and extracurricular activities at their home school.
Enrollment in the Virtual Learning Academy will require a semester-long commitment.
Admission into the Virtual Learning Academy will be based on previous coursework, a written essay, teacher recommendations and a family interview to ensure student success in the program.
For more information about the Virtual Learning Academy, see the presentation that was shared during the June 21 District 88 Board of Education meeting (click the video above).
If you and your child feel the Virtual Learning Academy would be a good fit, please contact Addison Trail or Willowbrook.
