Willowbrook students participate in Midwestern University’s Health Sciences Career Day to learn about health care field

On Feb. 27, Willowbrook Science Department Head David Garcia took a group of 22 juniors and seniors to participate in Midwestern University’s Health Sciences Career Day.

This free, hands-on program provides high school students with insight into the many options available in the health care field, including where to find resources, admissions tips, how to choose a specific health care career, and research and volunteer opportunities.

During the event, Willowbrook students attended four sessions to experience various aspects of medicine. They saw a cadaver lab, visited a hospital room simulation, learned about some basic osteopathic medical treatments and observed an experiment in physical therapy.
