District 88 shares important information regarding Illinois Youth Survey

On May 3, Addison Trail and Willowbrook will administer the Illinois Youth Survey (IYS) to students. According to https://iys.cprd.illinois.edu, the IYS “is a self-report survey … designed to gather information about a variety of health and social indicators, including substance use and perceptions, bullying, school climate, nutrition and physical activity.”

The main goals of the IYS are to provide:

  1. local data to schools and school districts throughout Illinois

  2. a scientific estimate of health and social indicators for the state

Participation involves completing a survey (with no names or identification numbers) that will be confidentially given by a classroom teacher, a counselor, or a community member who has received training. The information gathered will provide valuable insights to help District 88 better understand the needs of students and improve/enhance programming, strategies and initiatives to support their well-being.

Participation in the survey is voluntary, and families can choose to opt out by completing the form at https://tinyurl.com/IYSForm2024. This document can be dropped off at the main office at Addison Trail and Willowbrook and must be received before May 3.
