Superintendent’s letter

Welcome to DuPage High School District 88!

Congratulations to Addison Trail and Willowbrook High Schools for the academic achievement of students!

As we enter the 2009-2010 school year we continue to focus on the high priorities of:

• improving student performance
• providing a safe, secure and positive learning environment
• completion of Building The Future
• building partnerships with parents, community organizations and alumni
• budget stability

I am excited to open the new school year with high expectations for student growth, interventions that address closing the "achievement gap" and preparing students to go beyond high school. Our commitment to continuous improvement means that we seek collaborative relationships that support student performance and preparation for a changing future.

The students and staff worked very hard last school year to excel in academic performance and create a positive learning climate. These achievements are critical to the District 88 mission of improving student performance and preparing students for future careers in the global economy. Thank you to our parents and communities for working in partnership to support learning and student success.

District 88 is also grateful for the community support of Building The Future. The construction, which began in June 2008, is on-schedule, on-budget and will continue year-round to meet the targeted completion date in the Fall of 2010. Please watch the website for details to participate in public tours this fall. We are excited to preview the completed portions of Addison Trail and Willowbrook.
