Glenbard Parent Series (GPS) summer reading list and 2018-19 schedule of programming

Below is information about the Glenbard Parent Series (GPS), an educational consortium dedicated to presenting distinguished high-profile authors, clinicians and educators, who share their research-based knowledge and experiences. According to the GPS website (www.glenbardgps.org), the group’s mission “is to enhance our students’ social and emotional learning, encourage responsible decision-making, foster positive growth and development and promote respectful relationships as we encourage conversation around the opportunities and issues facing families today.” GPS is a resource for parents/guardians, educators, students and community members to foster real-world skills and traits to help students be better prepared for college, the workforce and life.

GPS offers a summer reading list for parents/guardians, which can be viewed at https://tinyurl.com/GPSSummerReading2018. The group also will host a Common Read at 7 p.m. on Aug. 22 at Glenbard West for parents/guardians, students and community members. GPS has selected the critically acclaimed novel “The Things They Carried” by author Tim O’Brien as the 2018 GPS Community-Wide Read. See details at https://tinyurl.com/GPSCommunityRead2018.
