We are pleased to share District 88 Board of Education President Donna Craft Cain and Addison Trail physical education teacher Sheri D’Ambrose have been selected as recipients of the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Those Who Excel Award.

That program honors individuals who have made significant contributions to Illinois public and nonpublic elementary and secondary schools. Donna has earned a Meritorious Service Award (the second-highest award level presented) in the School Board Member/Community Volunteer category, and Sheri has earned a Meritorious Service Award in the Classroom Teacher category.

I would like to thank Donna and Sheri for their dedication and commitment to our students, schools and communities. Their tireless efforts have helped us build positive futures for our students, and they are incredibly deserving of these recognitions.

Donna and Sheri will be honored during the Those Who Excel Awards Banquet & Program on Oct. 28 at the Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel & Conference Center. Congratulations to Donna and Sheri, and I thank them again for their passion.
