Addison Trail invites stakeholders to participate in Blazer Color Run

Addison Trail, 213 N. Lombard Road in Addison

On April 29, Addison Trail will host a Blazer Color Run – and you’re invited to join the fun!

The event will begin at 9 a.m. (check-in will start at 8 a.m.) at the school, 213 N. Lombard Road in Addison. The deadline to sign up is April 19, and the cost is $30 ($25 if you register by April 7). The cost for participants who are 4 years old and younger is $15 (or free without promotional items). The registration fee includes a color packet and a Blazer Color Run T-shirt. To sign up, go to www.dupage88.net/BlazerColorRun2017.

The event consists of a 5K course. During the race, runners will be doused with colored powder at various stations along the trail, ending with a final color celebration at the finish line. There also will be a disc jockey, water and snacks, and the Lettermen Club will be fundraising and offering lunch for all participants after the race.

The Blazer Color Run also is an opportunity to give back and help others. Addison Trail students will be raising money for four charities, and each class will compete to raise the most money for its chosen charity. Freshmen will donate to a local family afflicted by childhood cancer, sophomores will donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, juniors will donate to Autism Speaks and seniors will donate to MidAmerica Service Dogs' Foundation, Inc. Staff and community members will donate to the Addison Community Switchboard. If you are unable to attend, but would like to make a donation, contact Addison Trail teacher Sheri D’Ambrose at sdambrose@dupage88.net or 630-458-4270.
