On Sept. 20, more than 30 Addison Trail students attended a welcome event to kick off the school’s English Learner (EL) and Newcomer groups for the 2024-25 school year.
During the event, the pupils – who are known as Los Trailblazers (the trailblazers) – shared information about their home countries, their passions and their dreams. Throughout the school year, the groups will meet and participate in activities such as kayaking and hiking.
The gathering also was an opportunity for the students to get to know the staff members who coordinate the EL and Newcomer groups.
