Addison Trail Driver Education program prepares students to be capable, responsible drivers

Students enrolled in Addison Trail teacher Shannon Giertz’s Driver Education class recently participated in two activities to help prepare them to be safe while behind the wheel on the road.

• On May 23, they observed an intersection to watch traffic patterns and learn from common driving errors.
  
  
• On May 24 and 25, they learned how to change a car tire.

“Receiving a driver’s license comes with a heavy responsibility,” Giertz said. “You need to constantly think about your safety and the well-being of those around you, minimize distractions and be ready for a variety of challenging situations that could occur. We implement many lessons such as the two mentioned above to make sure students are capable, responsible drivers.”
