District 88 students invited to make positive community change through joining PhilanthroParty and Reality Illinois

High school students in DuPage County who are committed to positive community change are invited to join Reality Illinois, the Teen Advisory Board to the DuPage County Health Department. Members advocate, participate in service projects and assist with the health department’s youth media campaigns. The group focuses on well-being, empowering leaders and making a difference.

Members meet weekly during the summer and monthly during the school year. The group will meet from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays from June 13 to Aug. 1. See the schedule of events at https://dupage88.net/site/public/files/?item=6921.

Students also are invited to attend the annual PhilanthroParty/Party With a Purpose to begin the summer programming at 1:30 p.m. on June 6 at College of DuPage. Participants will take part in an interactive, energetic presentation by guest speaker Brittany Richmond (a charismatic communicator and mental health expert of 10+ years) to identify what we carry around in our backpacks – mentally and emotionally – and how to remove some of the weight, so we can replace it with what brings us joy. There also will be raffle prizes. See details and register at https://dupage88.net/site/public/files/?item=6921.
