Forty Addison Trail seniors accepted to Elmhurst University

On Dec. 1, 40 Addison Trail seniors received exciting news – they have been accepted to Elmhurst University.

The students were surprised with the announcement and a visit from Elmhurst University President Dr. Troy D. VanAken, Senior Director of First-Year Admission Alexander Blumenberg, Associate Director of First-Year Admission Jenny Bogda, Victor E. Bluejay (Elmhurst University’s mascot) and Bucky Blazer (Addison Trail’s mascot). Dr. VanAken, Blumenberg, Bogda and Addison Trail Guidance Counselor Shane Cole congratulated the seniors on being admitted to the university through its Early Action program and encouraged them to continue working hard to pursue their goals.

Addison Trail alumni Mateo Gomez and Roohana Amin, class of 2022, spoke with students and shared their experiences as freshmen at Elmhurst University.

Combined, the recipients were awarded more than $800,000 a year in total scholarships. Each student also received a “Bluejay Box,” which contained a letter of acceptance, a scholarship offer and more.
