Counseling Corner: Addison Trail Guidance Department shares important reminders for members of the class of 2022

As members of the Addison Trail class of 2022 prepare for graduation on May 22, the Addison Trail Guidance Department would like to share a few important reminders with those students.

  1. Make sure you are passing your classes and making progress in Credit Recovery, if applicable. You must meet all of the graduation requirements by 3 p.m. on May 18 (6 p.m. for GOAL students) to participate in the graduation/commencement ceremony. See your counselor if you are unsure about the graduation requirements.

  2. You also must complete the FAFSA (https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa) or the FAFSA Nonparticipation Form (https://www.isbe.net/Documents/FAFSA-Non-Participation-Form.pdf).

    • If you are 18 years old or older, you can sign the FAFSA Nonparticipation Form. If you are younger than 18, you will need parent permission to sign it. Please note: You only need to turn in this form if you WON’T complete the FAFSA.

  3. If you would like your photo included on the Legacy Wall in the Student Commons area, click HERE to complete the form. The Legacy Wall is an Addison Trail tradition, where photos of the outgoing/graduating students are displayed, along with their future plans.

  4. If you haven’t ordered your cap and gown, go to Jostens.com. Be sure to order your cap and gown by May 18 to ensure it will be available for pickup on May 20.

  5. Graduation practice will begin at 7:45 a.m. on May 20. If you plan to participate in the commencement ceremony, you must attend this event. Senior Brunch will immediately follow the graduation practice and will end at 1:30 p.m.

If you need more information or have any questions, contact your counselor at https://dupage88.libguides.com/Guidance. Thank you, and congratulations to the class of 2022!
