Addison Trail hosts Poetry Slam to celebrate National Poetry Month

On April 28, the Addison Trail Library Media Center (LMC) sponsored a Poetry Slam in celebration of National Poetry Month.

Seniors Kaitlinn Meisinger (pictured above, second from left) and Daniel Zuniga Jr. (pictured above, third from left), along with LMC Aide Josie Loizzo (pictured above, left), performed moving original pieces. Sophomore Carmela Pecoraro (pictured above, right) opened and closed the event with a few original poems of her own.

The "Slammers" expressed themselves in masterful ways, showing their love for and power of the written word.
