Willowbrook alumna Marta Timmerman (pictured above), class of 2011, is performing in Marriott Theatre’s production of “West Side Story,” which is scheduled to run through March 27.

According to https://www.marriotttheatre.com/show/west-side-story, “Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ is transported to modern-day New York City as two young, idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the Jets and the Sharks, in this landmark Broadway musical. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of today’s time. From the first notes to the final breath, ‘West Side Story’ is as powerful, poignant and timely as ever.”

Timmerman is making her Marriott Theatre debut as Clarice, one of the Jet Girls. She is a graduate of Dance from Mercyhurst University and went on to perform as a Swing with Disney Cruise Line in shows such as “Beauty and the Beast” and “Tangled: The Musical.”
