On Nov. 16, four Addison Trail student-athletes who are members of the boys and girls golf teams at the school were presented with $2,500 scholarships provided by a group of siblings who graduated from Addison Trail.

The recipients are seniors Madison Domek, Jazmin Martinez, Elijah Aquino and Anthony Scali. To watch the presentation, click on the video above.

The generous gift was donated by the family of longtime Addison resident Wayne Page. Wayne and his seven siblings grew up in Addison, attending St. Joseph Catholic School and Addison Trail. Wayne served in the U.S. Marines and was employed by United Airlines for 30 years. He loved children and spent years officiating youth basketball and working with kids to teach them teamwork and improve their skills.

Wayne passed away in 2016 after battling colon cancer. Since that time, his family has hosted the Wayne’s Pond Golf Memorial Tournament each year to honor and celebrate his life. All proceeds from the event are distributed to local children’s organizations or groups.
