Zaprzal celebrated with teammates, friends, administrators, staff members and family members, as well as Alex Lewis, Head Coach of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Women’s Swimming & Diving Team. Zaprzal is a four-year member of the AT-WB Girls Swim Team and said highlights of her career so far include:

  • Receiving West Suburban Conference Gold Division All-Conference honors all four years for each event in which she competed

  • Being named as Conference Champion her senior year

  • Participating in the USA Swimming Speedo Sectionals this past summer

  • Participating in the Illinois Senior Championship for as long as she has been a “senior”

  • Being the top scorer on the AT-WB Girls Swim Team for the past three years

Zaprzal has been swimming for 10 years and said the collegial nature of the sport is what makes her want to continue at the collegiate level.

“I like being a part of a team, while still having individualized events,” Zaprzal said. “As I’ve moved clubs when I was younger, I have been able to connect with so many people. I’ve made lifelong friends through swimming, and I’m hopeful that pattern will continue as we go our separate ways through college, and I’ll make even more bonds as I go to University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.”

Zaprzal plans to pursue a degree in nursing at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
