Updated COVID-19 prevention guidance

Updated COVID-19 prevention guidance for schools was recently released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). • COVID-19 mitigation measures District 88 plans to implement

  • Data sources District 88 will use to determine the level of layered COVID-19 prevention strategies to be implemented

  • Details about the district’s Virtual Learning Academy (a program to accommodate students who were successful in an online environment and wish to remain remote)

  • An option for students and staff to provide verification of vaccination to help the district determine who doesn’t need to quarantine or isolate in the event of a close-contact or outbreak

  • District 88’s plan for ARP ESSER funds, including a form for stakeholders to share their comments and feedback

Registration, residency verification and picking up school materials

  • District 88 is pleased to provide a full online registration process for its families. Registration will open on July 26. CLICK HERE for important details.

  • District 88 will continue to implement its residency verification process to ensure the district can maximize its resources for families who reside within District 88 boundaries. Residency verification must be completed for all incoming freshmen, new students and transfer students before registering for the 2021-22 school year. CLICK HERE for important details.

  • Students can pick up their school materials from Aug. 9 to 13 (during their assigned time/date). CLICK HERE for important details.

Food service

For the 2021-22 school year, all students are eligible to receive a regular school breakfast and lunch (Type A meal) free of charge through the federal school meal program. Second meals, extra milk and a la carte items aren’t included in this waiver, but will be available to buy.

Community Nights

District 88 invites all stakeholders to celebrate the start of the 2021-22 school year by attending the district’s fifth annual Community Nights – a time for fun, food and District 88 pride! Addison Trail’s Blue and White Community Night and Willowbrook’s Silver and Blue Community Night will take place on Aug. 20 at the football stadiums, and the evening will feature a showcase of the schools’ athletic teams and extracurricular activities. See all the details below in the newsletter!

Thank you for your continued support of District 88. We’re excited to focus on the future as we get ready for the 2021-22 school year and continue to collaborate with all of our stakeholders to accomplish our mission of working for the continuous improvement of student achievement.
