Willowbrook recognizes students for living the Warrior Code

Willowbrook might be in a remote environment because of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, but that isn’t stopping students from exhibiting the school’s Warrior Code – Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Engaged.

Willowbrook’s Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) team is proud to recognize and celebrate students who are nominated by their teachers for living the Warrior Code. Honorees earn prize incentives such as Warrior Pride yard signs, T-shirts, ice cream treats from SONIC (for whole-class nominations) and pizza gift certificates from Dominick's Pizza (for students with perfect attendance each month).

This month, students also will receive the fun Winter Warrior image above, which was created by PBIS adviser/Art Department Head John Epple.

The PBIS program was implemented in fall 2007 to teach students expected behaviors, rules and what it means to be a Willowbrook Warrior. The goal of the program is to develop a positive school climate through creating common language and standards.
