Addison Trail hosts International Fest Week

From Nov. 16 to 20, Addison Trail and Junior Achievement of Chicago hosted the school’s annual International Fest Week.

The event looked a little different this year because of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, but the focus remained the same – to provide an opportunity for students to learn about various countries, cultures and perspectives.

The 2020 International Fest Week included:

  • Professionals and staff members provided virtual presentations about their travels and experiences from throughout the world. CLICK HERE to view the presentations.

  • A World Language Career Series from Junior Achievement of Chicago featured multilingual professionals sharing how speaking another language has positively impacted their lives (socially, with their work, etc.). CLICK HERE to see the series.

  • Clubs, teams, classrooms and students were invited to participate in a virtual version of the school’s annual Dec-A-Door event, called Dec-A-Slide. They chose a country and decorated a virtual door to represent that location and culture. The goal was to show Addison Trail encompasses many nationalities, but is one Blazer Nation.
