Counseling Corner: Willowbrook Guidance Department shares summer school and summer programming options for students

Summer break is a wonderful time for students to relax and enjoy time off, but it also is an opportunity for students to take classes to get ahead in school and to prepare for the future.

The Willowbrook Guidance Department shares several summer options below.

  • Pre-College Summer Programs and Opportunities: Pre-college summer programs and camps are offered throughout the country to provide high school students with experiences in areas such as Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM); health care; art; music and more.   • Willowbrook Summer School Courses: Willowbrook will offer several courses for enrichment this summer. More information can be viewed at http://www.dupage88.net/WBSummerSchool. The deadline to register has been extended to May 3.

  • STEM Camp: Willowbrook will again host this opportunity for students who enjoy science, technology, engineering and math to participate in a STEM Camp from June 17 to 28. More information can be viewed at www.dupage88.net/STEMCamp2019. Be sure to register by May 3.

  • Credit Recovery: Willowbrook will provide direct instruction and online learning for students who need to make up graduation requirements. Contact the Guidance Department at 630-530-3417 for more information.

  • College of DuPage (COD): COD will offer classes for high school students, along with ACT/SAT prep classes and a College Success Series. More information can be viewed at 2019 COD High School Program.
