GRAMMY-nominated musician speaks with Addison Trail students about the writing process

On March 8, a guest speaker presented to students in Addison Trail English teacher Katie Inzinga’s Creative Writing class.

GRAMMY-nominated musician Ralph Covert – who also is a singer, songwriter, performer, producer, playwright, actor, educator and record company executive – spoke to the students about the importance of writing for themselves and challenged them to find and listen to their "songwriter compass" when creating. Covert is the lead singer of children's music group Ralph's World and Chicago-based band The Bad Examples. For more about Covert, go to www.ralphcovert.com.

During the presentation, Covert shared his experiences with writing, and students had the opportunity to ask him questions as they prepare to write their own children’s stories.
