Warrior Wellness: Willowbrook to launch new registration process for Behind the Wheel driver education program

In this edition of Warrior Wellness, Willowbrook shares important information regarding registration for second-semester Behind the Wheel, our on-street driver education program. We are changing our registration process to make it easier for families to sign students up for driving lessons.

When: Registration for second semester of Behind the Wheel will take place from 9 a.m. on Nov. 28 to 3 p.m. on Dec. 2. 

* PLEASE NOTE: We are transitioning away from in-person registration, and registration will now take place online via a Google Form.

Times and dates:

• Session 4: 1/16 to 2/24
  
  
• Session 5: 2/27 to 4/07
  
  
• Session 6: 4/10 to 5/19
  
  
• Monday through Friday:

• • 6:30 to 7:30 a.m.
  • 3:05 to 4:05 p.m.
  • 4:10 to 5:10 p.m.

* Behind the Wheel will meet twice a week for six weeks. The dates are approximate, and students will be contacted by their driving instructor as to their specific start date. Students shouldn’t show up to drive until they are contacted.

Enrollment: Students will be enrolled based on their date of birth, with the oldest students being assigned first. Students who complete the Google Form and don’t make the cutoff will be placed on a waiting list. If a spot opens up, it will be filled by the oldest student who is available during that time slot.

Important note: If your student is an athlete or is thinking about participating in afterschool activities during second semester, please keep in mind that he/she won’t be able to participate in Behind the Wheel. These students should wait until summer-school driving or next fall to enroll. SEE THE CORRECTION BELOW.

CORRECTION FROM ORIGINAL POST ON NOV. 4: If your student is an athlete or is thinking about participating in afterschool activities during second semester, please keep in mind that he/she should register for the 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. time slot, or should wait until summer-school driving or next fall to enroll.

Cost: The cost for Behind the Wheel is $220.
