District 88 earns state-level INSPRA Communications Contest award

On Sept. 9, District 88 received a state-level award through the Illinois Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association (INSPRA) Communications Contest. That program recognizes high-quality school publications and materials that promote the mission and message of a school district.

District 88 received an Award of Merit in the Video (in house) category for the “District 88 Profile Realtor Video.” The entry was judged by a panel of three communications professionals, based on standards of excellence.

The video was created for luncheons the district hosted in May 2022 for about 90 local real estate agents. The events were hosted in partnership with the villages of Addison, Lombard and Villa Park and school districts 4, 45 and 48. The purpose of the luncheons was to provide the Realtors with materials/details about the communities and school districts to ensure they have the most up-to-date and accurate information to share with their clients. Participants enjoyed food prepared by District 88 culinary students, musical entertainment provided by District 88 orchestra students and a tour of Addison Trail and Willowbrook high schools. The villages and school districts also shared handouts, videos and presentations and hosted question-and-answer sessions.

The INSPRA Communications Contest Workshop and Luncheon took place at Maggiano’s Little Italy in Oak Brook, and District 88 Superintendent Dr. Jean Barbanente and Director of Community Relations Dani Brink attended the event to accept the award.
