Addison Trail students visit Pioneer Service Inc. to celebrate Manufacturing Day

Addison Trail students visit Pioneer Service Inc. as part of Manufacturing Day. That event took place on Oct. 4, and the field trip provided an opportunity for students to tour the facility, learn about various careers available in manufacturing and ask questions about the field.

On Oct. 4, 14 Addison Trail students who are enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses at the school visited Pioneer Service Inc. as part of Manufacturing Day, along with Addison Trail Director of Guidance Kevin Redding and Counselor Shane Cole.

According to www.mfgday.com, “Manufacturing Day addresses common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is – and what it isn’t. By working together during and after MFG DAY, manufacturers will begin to address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry.”

During their visit to Pioneer, students toured the facility, learned about various careers available in manufacturing and had an opportunity to ask questions about the field. Pioneer Service Inc. is a Certified Women-Owned contract manufacturer.
