Willowbrook hosts Homecoming 2019

From Sept. 23 to 28, Willowbrook celebrated Homecoming Week with several events and activities. This year’s theme was “Night of a Thousand Lights,” and students and staff showed their Warrior Pride and school spirit throughout the week. Highlights of Homecoming Week included:
Sept. 25: Homecoming Bonfire and Powder-Puff Game
- About 110 juniors and seniors participated in the game. The juniors won, 6-0.
Sept. 27: Homecoming Pep Assembly
- During the Pep Assembly, the 2019 Homecoming Kings and Queens were crowned. They are:
- Freshmen Mack Mullen and Madison Aderholt
- Sophomores Vincent Vassolo and Katie Linnig
- Juniors Patrick Heneghan and Lydia Rennie
- Seniors Nasar Ashar and Ellie King
- Hundreds of students participated in lunch competitions throughout the week, and the winners of those events competed to be named “school champion” during the Pep Assembly.
- The Homecoming Parade was canceled due to inclement weather.
Sept. 28: Homecoming Dance “Night of a Thousand Lights” and Football Game (the game was rescheduled from Sept. 27 due to inclement weather)
- 1,300 students attended the dance, which included refreshments provided by The Brook Catering Co., which is comprised of Willowbrook students who are enrolled in culinary classes at the school.
- The football game was against Addison Trail. Willowbrook won, 42-12.
